Le Cafe Gourmet
A French bakery located in Savannah, Georgia. This project includes several design elements such as Coffee cup sleeve design, Food packaging design, Signage, and more.

The Audience
Through observation and conversations with the owner, it became clear that Le Café Gourmet primarily attracts an older audience. Some patrons value a quiet, work-friendly environment, while others are tourists seeking a brief stop to relax and enjoy Savannah’s historic atmosphere.

Initially, a handwritten typeface was considered the most effective way to convey an authentic Parisian feel. Early exploration included research into French cursive styles, which were tested during the concept development phase.
The Type
Revisions
With some talks with the client, a more traditional Art Nouveau logo was requested. Shifting gears, an exploration of different typefaces and borders was done, to figure out what made Art Nouveau, Art Nouveau.

After selecting NouveauELF to better reflect the personality of Le Café Gourmet, the typeface was carefully customized to enhance its character. These modifications added a sense of individuality to the lettering, ensuring the typography felt as distinctive as the café itself while remaining refined and cohesive.

The Mission
From the logo and typography to the color palette and imagery. The client’s vision for the brand is to incorporate an Art Nouveau and Modern blend, using the new French flag colors but with a darker tint, to add distinction from being a copy and paste French restaurant.
